      The goal To provide students with a wither knowledge of the radioactive contamination of the environment, with special emphasis on animal feed, animals and their products.
      The outcome Students should be able to: recommend different adsorbents and other protective measures in the event of radioactive contamination of environment and animals; they need to know the behavior of biologically important radionuclides in food chain and permitted levels of radioactive contamination.
      Contents
      Contents of lectures Radiation doses and effects, radiation risk. Natural and artificial radioactivity. Radioactive contamination of the environment. Biologically significant radionuclides. The radioactivity of foodstuffs and animal feed. Organization of veterinarians in case of radioactive contamination of enviornment. Application of adsorbents. Organization of work in slaughterhouses and dairies.
