The goal To teach students (previously acquainted with molecular biology of the cell) to understand functional connectivity of cells in various tissues and organs, and the regularities of their development during embryogenesis in different animal species, as well as to the instructions of the possibilities of application of different histological methods in experimental research and diagnostics .
The outcome Train students to apply their knowledge in the field of histology and embryology, and to enable proper choice of histological methods and their application in standalone scientific work.
      Contents
Contents of lectures Development and morphofunctional characteristics of tissues (epithelial, connective, muscular and nervous) and certain organ systems (nervous, circulatory, lymphatic, respiratory, digestive, urinary, endocrine, reproductive, skin, senses), depending on the issues of the doctoral dissertation.
Contents of exercises Preparation of histological sections, light microscopy (classical, histochemistry and immunohistochemistry, impregnation). Principles and techniques of electron microscopy. In situ hybridization. Analysis of the stained sections. Quantification of results: morphometry and stereology.
