The goal | The course aims to make students capable for proper breeding and care of honey bee colonies and for maintenance of health and productive honey bee colonies as well as to prepare them how to independently solve common problems in beekeeping. In addition, this course gives the basis for attendance and appreciation of the subject Diseases of honey bees. | |||
The outcome | Student has to learn the social organization and the development of the honey bee colony; morphology and communication of honey bee colony members. Student has to understand basic principles of breeding and care of bees according to seasonal requirements and development of honey bee colony, as well as the basic principles of queen breeding and selection. Student has to be skilled for independent management the apiary and professional communication with beekeepers. | |||
