    The goal Introduction to the specifics of the physiology and pathology of sport horses in various disciplines of equestrian sport.
    The outcome The student should understand the basic adaptive mechanisms during training and physical stress, to know most important disorders caused by physical workload and should be able to perform a clinical examination in order to assess the fitness level and most common disorders caused by training and take appropriate preventive and therapeutic measures.
    Contents
    Contents of lectures The impact of physical workload on the organism and its adaptation to training and stress in horses (1). Evaluation of performance before introduction to training (1). Basis of training sport horses and differencies in various equestrian disciplines (5). Evaluation of the degree of horse fitness (1). Sports injuries and diseases caused by physical exertion (6), doping and anti-doping control (1).
    Contents of exercises Evaluation of performance, functional tests for establishing the fitness of a horse, workload test, diagnostics and therapy of sport ailments and injuries, sampling for antidoping control (15). Slinical practice in the equine clinics and at the hippodrome (15).
