The goal | Introduction to the practical aspects of clinical pathology and treatment of large animals and gain practical experience of direct involvement in clinical practice and independently solve the most common problems of everyday practice | |||
The outcome | Students gain direct experience in working on large animals in the fields of surgery, reproduction, internal diseases and diagnostics of infectious and parasitic diseases. | |||

Contents of exercises | Students encounter clinical cases that are in the field at that point and are trained to give general and local anesthesia, fix or knock down an animal, learn the technique of artificial insemination of cows and sows, manual and ultrasound examination for pregnancy, treatment of various forms of sterility, obstetrics in childbirth, resolving the retention of placenta and uterine prolapse, and placement of the Biner suture. From the surgical interventions, castration of stallions, boars and ruminants, sows ovariectomy, caesarean section, ruminotomy and abomazopexy, treatment of umbilical and scrotal hernia, hematoma and abscesses, bleeding, dental correction and hoof treatment. | |||
