    The goal Introduction to basic principles of genetic control of disease and application of appropriate methods of breeding and selection for tolerance/resistance of animals. Introduction to mechanisms of genetic variability, principles of genetic and multifactorial control of hereditary diseases and the effects of selective breeding on genes in population.

    Contents of lectures Variability: the importance, types and estimation; (1). Effects of breeding methods and selection on gene flow of the population: inbreeding and outbreeding depression (2), Importance of gene maps in veterinary medicine (2), Genetic basis of animal diseases (2), Diseases of monogenic etiology (2), Immunogenetics (1), Pharmacogenetics (1), Genetic and ambiental control of hereditary diseases (2), Importance of conservation of animal genetic resources(2).
    Contents of exercises Effects of selective breeding on genetic variability(2). Inbreeding and crossbreeding oeffects on constitution and health (2). Familiar analysis and diagnosis of hereditary diseases (2). Applied immunogenetic and farmacogenetic in veterinary medicine and practice (2). Ambiental control in expression of multifactorial diseases: the applicability in breeding management (2). Effects of breeding and reproduction management of domestic animals on genetic structure and health (2). Selective breeding and gene flow – importance of animal genetic resources(3).
